Facilitator Profile

I am delighted to have been appointed as Facilitator to the Bury Primary Learning Collaborative. This is an exciting new venture that will bring huge benefits to the schools involved. I am confident my background in headship and collaborative working will enable me to provide an excellent service to the Collaborative, supporting its development over the coming
months into a bespoke model for Bury.

As an experienced head teacher, I have a detailed knowledge of the curriculum, pedagogy and national initiatives. I have a commitment to, and involvement in, professional learning with a full understanding of the issues faced by school leaders.

In 2002, I founded a local Networked Learning Community, a group of twenty schools (18 primaries, 1 secondary and 1 special) in response to funding available from NCSL. This built upon the informal working relationship already in place but shifted the focus to teaching and learning. I held the position of overall leader as well as taking the role of chair for leadership learning activities. Over the past five years, I have been responsible for organising many professional learning activities.

I have a track record of being able to work with people and get the best from them. Since training as a Process Consultant in 2005, I have a toolkit which enhances my effectiveness both as a skilled helper and in organising training days.

One of my strengths is events management. I have arranged international visits and as a result, also brought international visitors back to the UK. This has had a great impact on international mindedness and led to some schools attaining International School status. I have brought international speakers to my local area, and have organised training days, residential conferences and whole area INSET for up to 300 people.

I established my business as an educational consultant in 2010. In addition to the contract with Bury, I have undertaken SIP work, training on a range of primary school issues, head teacher performance management and leadership support.
